The Resurrection of Christ
Now, brothers, I want to remind you of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, and in which you stand firm. Gal 1:6-121Co 1:23-241Pe 5:122Co 1:241Co 15:3-111Th 1:61Th 2:131Th 4:1 By this gospel you are saved, if you hold firmly to the word I preached to you. Otherwise, you have believed in vain. Heb 3:6Heb 2:1Heb 3:141Co 1:182Ti 1:9Col 1:23Eph 2:8Jhn 8:31-32
For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 1Pe 2:24Gal 1:4Isa 53:1-121Jn 2:2Act 26:22-23Dan 9:24-26Gal 1:12Rev 1:5 that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, Hos 6:2Mat 12:40Psa 16:10-11Act 13:29-37Act 26:22-23Isa 53:9-12Luk 24:46Jon 1:17 and that He appeared to Cephas 1and then to the Twelve. Mrk 16:14Act 1:2-14Jhn 20:19-261Co 1:12Jhn 1:42Luk 24:34-491Co 3:221Co 9:5 After that, He appeared to more than five hundred brothers at once, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. Mat 28:10Mrk 16:7Act 13:361Co 15:182Pe 3:4Act 7:601Th 4:131Th 4:15 Then He appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Luk 24:50Act 1:2-12Luk 24:33Act 12:17Luk 24:36 And last of all He appeared to me also, as to one of untimely birth. 1Co 9:1Act 26:16Act 18:9Act 22:18Act 9:172Co 12:1-6Act 22:14Act 9:3-6
For I am the least of the apostles and am unworthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God. Eph 3:7-81Ti 1:13-152Co 12:11Act 8:3Act 26:9-11Act 9:1-19Gal 1:232Co 11:5 But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace to me was not in vain. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me. Php 4:132Co 3:5Php 2:13Eph 3:7-8Eph 2:7-82Co 10:12-16Gal 2:8Rom 12:3 Whether, then, it was I or they, this is what we preach, and this is what you believed. 1Co 2:21Co 15:3-4
The Resurrection of the Dead
But if it is preached that Christ has been raised from the dead, how can some of you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? Act 26:8Act 17:322Ti 2:18Act 23:81Co 15:13-192Th 2:17 If there is no resurrection of the dead, then not even Christ has been raised. Jhn 11:25-261Th 4:14Rom 8:11Rev 1:181Pe 1:32Co 4:10-14Rom 4:24-251Co 15:20 And if Christ has not been raised, our preaching is worthless, and so is your faith. 1Co 15:171Th 4:14Act 17:31Jas 2:20Mat 15:91Co 15:2Gal 2:2Isa 49:4 In that case, we are also exposed as false witnesses about God. For we have testified about God that He raised Christ from the dead, but He did not raise Him if in fact the dead are not raised. Act 2:24Job 13:7-101Co 15:13Act 2:321Co 15:20Act 10:39-42Act 13:30-33Act 4:10
For if the dead are not raised, then not even Christ has been raised. And if Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins. Rom 4:251Pe 1:31Co 15:141Pe 1:21Rom 8:33-34Rom 5:101Co 15:2Act 5:31 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 1Th 4:13-141Th 4:161Co 15:6Rev 14:13 If our hope in Christ is for this life alone, we are to be pitied more than all men. 1Pe 1:21Rev 14:132Ti 1:121Co 4:9-132Ti 3:12Act 14:22Luk 21:34Eph 1:12-13
The Order of Resurrection
But Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep. 1Co 15:23Act 26:23Rev 1:51Pe 1:3Col 1:18Rom 8:111Co 15:6 For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. The Resurrection Body
But someone will ask, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?” Ezk 37:31Co 15:38-53Php 3:21Rom 9:19Ecc 11:5Jhn 3:4Jhn 3:9Jhn 9:10 You fool! Not all flesh is the same: Men have one kind of flesh, animals have another, birds another, and fish another. Gen 1:20-26 There are also heavenly bodies and earthly bodies. But the splendor of the heavenly bodies is of one degree, and the splendor of the earthly bodies is of another. The sun has one degree of splendor, the moon another, and the stars another; and star differs from star in splendor. Deu 4:19Isa 24:23Psa 148:3-5Gen 1:14Job 31:26Psa 19:4-6Psa 8:3
So will it be with the resurrection of the dead: What is sown is perishable; it is raised imperishable. Dan 12:3Mat 13:43Php 3:20-211Pe 1:4Rom 8:211Co 15:50-54Act 2:27Act 2:31 It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. Where, O Death, Is Your Victory?
