Then God said to Noah and his sons with him, “Behold, I now establish My covenant with you and your descendants after you, Gen 6:18Isa 54:9-10Rom 1:3Gen 17:7-8Gen 9:11Gen 9:17Gen 22:17Jer 33:20 and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock, and every beast of the earth—every living thing that came out of the ark. So God said to Noah, “This is the sign of the covenant that I have established between Me and every creature on the earth.”

Noah’s Shame and Canaan’s Curse

The sons of Noah who came out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And Ham was the father of Canaan. Gen 10:1Gen 10:6Gen 9:25-27Gen 9:231Ch 1:4 These three were the sons of Noah, and from them the whole earth was populated. 1Ch 1:4-28Gen 10:2-32Gen 5:32Gen 8:17

Now Noah, a man of the soil, proceeded 1to plant a vineyard. Deu 20:6Deu 28:30Ecc 5:9Gen 3:18-19Gen 3:23Gen 4:2Gen 5:29Isa 28:24-26 But when he drank some of its wine, he became drunk and uncovered himself inside his tent. Pro 30:17Gal 6:11Co 13:6Mat 18:15Psa 40:15Gen 10:15-19Gen 10:6Oba 1:12-13

Then Shem and Japheth took a garment and placed it across their shoulders, and walking backward, they covered their father’s nakedness. Their faces were turned away so that they did not see their father’s nakedness. Gal 6:1Exo 20:121Pe 2:171Pe 4:81Ti 5:11Ti 5:171Ti 5:19Lev 19:32

When Noah awoke from his drunkenness and learned what his youngest son had done to him, he said, Deu 27:16Jos 9:23Jdg 1:28-301Ki 9:20-21Jhn 8:34Jos 9:272Ch 8:7-8Gen 9:22

“Cursed be Canaan!

A servant of servants

shall he be to his brothers.”

Shem’s Blessing and Noah’s Death

He also declared: Psa 144:15Gen 12:1-3Heb 11:16Deu 33:26Gen 10:10-26Gen 27:37Luk 3:23-36Rom 9:5

May Canaan be the servant of Shem.

May God expand the territory of Japheth; 2 Rom 11:12Rom 15:12Eph 2:13-14Eph 3:6Heb 11:9-10Eph 2:19Eph 3:13Hos 2:14

may he dwell in the tents of Shem,

and may Canaan be his servant.”

After the flood, Noah lived 350 years. So Noah lived a total of 950 years, and then he died. Gen 5:27Gen 5:32Psa 90:10Gen 11:11-25Gen 5:20Gen 5:5
