Christ’s Eternal Priesthood
The point of what we are saying is this: We do have such a high priest, who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, Heb 1:3Col 3:1Rev 3:21Heb 12:2Heb 7:26-28Heb 2:171Ch 29:11Heb 10:12 and who ministers in the sanctuary and true tabernacle set up by the Lord, not by man. Exo 33:72Co 5:1Rom 15:8Heb 9:23-24Col 2:11Exo 28:1Exo 28:35Heb 10:21 And since every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices, it was necessary for this One also to have something to offer. Eph 5:2Heb 5:1Heb 9:14Heb 10:9-12Heb 7:27Tit 2:14Jhn 6:51
Now if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, since there are already priests who offer gifts according to the law. Heb 7:11-15Heb 5:12Ch 26:18-19Num 16:40Num 17:12-13Num 18:5Heb 11:4 The place where they serve is a copy and shadow of what is in heaven. This is why Moses was warned when he was about to build the tabernacle: “See to it that you make everything according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.” 1 Exo 25:40Col 2:17Heb 10:1Exo 26:301Ch 28:19Exo 27:81Ch 28:12Heb 9:23-24
The New Covenant
(Jeremiah 31:26–40)
Now, however, Jesus has received a much more excellent ministry, just as the covenant He mediates is better and is founded on better promises. Heb 7:22Gal 3:16-21Heb 12:242Pe 1:4Luk 22:202Co 3:6-11Rom 9:4Tit 1:2 For if that first covenant had been without fault, no place would have been sought for a second. Heb 7:11Gal 3:21Heb 7:18Heb 8:6 But God found fault with the people and said: Jer 31:31-34Heb 10:16-17Heb 12:24Jer 32:40Heb 9:15Ezk 37:262Co 3:61Co 11:25
“Behold, the days are coming, declares the Lord,
when I will make a new covenant
with the house of Israel
and with the house of Judah.
It will not be like the covenant Jer 31:32Gal 4:24Mrk 8:232Ki 17:15-18Act 13:11Act 9:8Amo 5:22Deu 29:1

I will put My laws in their minds
and inscribe them on their hearts.
And I will be their God,
and they will be My people.
No longer will each one teach his neighbor or his brother, Jer 31:34Isa 54:13Jhn 6:451Jn 2:27Jer 24:71Jn 5:201Ch 28:9Act 8:10

By speaking of a new covenant, 3 He has made the first one obsolete; and what is obsolete and aging will soon disappear. 2Co 5:17Heb 7:18-19Heb 7:11-12Heb 9:15Heb 9:9-101Co 13:8Isa 51:6Mat 24:35
