The Broken Covenant
This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD: “Listen to the words of this covenant and tell them to the men of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem. Jer 11:6Exo 19:52Ch 23:162Ch 29:102Ch 34:312Ki 11:172Ki 23:2-3Jer 34:13-16 You must tell them that this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Cursed is the man who does not obey the words of this covenant, Deu 27:26Deu 28:15-68Deu 29:19-20Gal 3:10-13 which I commanded your forefathers when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the iron furnace, saying, ‘Obey Me, and do everything I command you, and you will be My people, and I will be your God.’ Lev 26:12Deu 4:20Jer 7:22-23Zec 8:81Ki 8:512Co 6:16Jer 24:7Deu 11:27 This was in order to establish the oath I swore to your forefathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is to this day.” Deu 7:12-13Jer 28:6Psa 105:9-111Co 14:16Deu 27:15-26Deu 6:3Exo 13:5Exo 3:8-17
“Amen, LORD,” I answered.
Then the LORD said to me, “Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying: Hear the words of this covenant and carry them out. Jas 1:22Rom 2:13Jer 19:2Jer 3:12Jer 7:2Jhn 13:17Isa 58:1Jer 11:2-4 For from the time I brought your fathers out of the land of Egypt until today, I strongly warned them again and again, 1 saying, ‘Obey My voice.’ 2Ch 36:151Sa 8:9Eph 4:17Exo 15:26Exo 23:21-222Th 3:12Deu 10:12-13Deu 11:26-28 Yet they would not obey or incline their ears, but each one followed the stubbornness of his evil heart. So I brought on them all the curses of this covenant I had commanded them to follow but they did not keep.” Jer 7:24Jer 7:26Ezk 20:8Jer 3:17Jer 35:15Deu 28:15-68Deu 29:21-24Deu 30:17-19
And the LORD told me, “There is a conspiracy among the men of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem. Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘I am about to bring upon them a disaster that they cannot escape. They will cry out to Me, but I will not listen to them. I did not know that they had plotted against me:
“Let us destroy the tree with its fruit;
