The Excellence of the Restored Nation

While Jeremiah was still confined in the courtyard of the guard, the word of the LORD came to him a second time: Jer 32:2-3Jer 37:21Jer 38:282Ti 2:9Jer 32:8 “Thus says the LORD who made the earth, 1 the LORD who formed it and established it, the LORD is His name: Exo 15:3Exo 6:3Isa 37:26Exo 3:14-15Heb 11:10Isa 14:32Isa 43:1Isa 43:21 Call to Me, and I will answer and show you great and unsearchable things you do not know. Jer 29:12Isa 65:24Eph 3:20Isa 48:6Psa 91:15Luk 11:9-10Psa 50:15Deu 4:29

For this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says about the houses of this city and the palaces of the kings of Judah that have been torn down for defense against the siege ramps and the sword: Ezk 4:2Hab 1:10Jer 32:24Ezk 21:22Ezk 26:8 The Chaldeans are coming to fight 2and to fill those places with the corpses of the men I will strike down in My anger and in My wrath. I have hidden My face from this city because of all its wickedness. Isa 8:17Jer 21:10Jer 21:4-7Jer 32:5Deu 31:17Isa 1:15-16Isa 64:7Jer 37:9-10

Nevertheless, I will bring to it health and healing, and I will heal its people and reveal to them the abundance of peace and truth. Jhn 10:10Isa 30:26Tit 3:5-6Psa 67:2Hos 6:1Isa 58:8Gal 5:22-23Isa 66:12 I will restore Judah and Israel from captivity 3and will rebuild them as in former times. Amo 9:14-15Isa 1:26Jer 30:3Jer 29:14Jer 31:4Jer 32:44Jer 23:3Jer 24:6 And I will cleanse them from all the iniquity they have committed against Me, and will forgive all their sins of rebellion against Me. So this city will bring Me renown, joy, praise, and glory before all the nations of the earth, who will hear of all the good I do for it. They will tremble in awe because of all the goodness and prosperity that I will provide for it. Isa 60:5Psa 126:2-3Zep 3:17-20Isa 62:7Jer 13:11Neh 6:16Hos 3:5Isa 62:12

This is what the LORD says: In this place you say is a wasteland without man or beast, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem that are deserted—inhabited by neither man nor beast—there will be heard again Jer 32:43Ezk 37:11Jer 32:36 the sounds of joy and gladness, the voices of the bride and bridegroom, and the voices of those bringing thank offerings into the house of the LORD, saying: 1Ch 16:34Psa 106:1Psa 107:1Psa 107:22Heb 13:152Ch 29:312Ch 5:13Isa 51:11

‘Give thanks to the LORD of Hosts,

for the LORD is good;

His loving devotion endures forever.’

For I will restore the land from captivity 4as in former times, says the LORD.

This is what the LORD of Hosts says: In this desolate place, without man or beast, and in all its cities, there will once more be pastures for shepherds to rest their flocks. Isa 65:10Ezk 34:12-15Jer 31:24Jer 36:29Jer 51:62Zep 2:6-7Ezk 36:8-11Jer 17:26 In the cities of the hill country, the foothills, 5 and the Negev, in the land of Benjamin and the cities surrounding Jerusalem, and in the cities of Judah, the flocks will again pass under the hands of the one who counts them, says the LORD. The Covenant with David

Behold, the days are coming, Hag 2:6-9Jer 23:51Ch 17:13-142Co 1:20Gen 49:10Amo 9:11Ezk 34:23-25Gen 22:18

declares the LORD,

when I will fulfill the gracious promise

that I have spoken

to the house of Israel

and the house of Judah.

In those days and at that time Jer 23:5-6Isa 11:1-5Isa 4:2Zec 3:8Isa 53:2Psa 72:1-52Sa 23:2-3Ezk 17:22-23

I will cause to sprout for David a righteous Branch,

and He will administer justice

and righteousness in the land.

In those days Judah will be saved, Jer 23:61Co 1:30Isa 45:172Co 5:21Php 3:9Rom 11:262Pe 1:1Isa 45:22

and Jerusalem will dwell securely,

and this is the name by which it will be called:

The LORD Our Righteousness. 6

For this is what the LORD says: David will never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel, 1Ki 2:4Luk 1:32-33Psa 89:29-371Ch 17:11-141Ki 8:25Isa 9:71Ch 17:272Sa 7:14-16 nor will the priests who are Levites ever fail to have a man before Me to offer burnt offerings, to burn grain offerings, and to present sacrifices.” Isa 56:71Pe 2:51Pe 2:9Deu 18:1Ezk 43:19-27Ezk 44:9-11Ezk 45:5Heb 13:15-16

And the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah: “This is what the LORD says: If you can break My covenant with the day and My covenant with the night, so that day and night cease to occupy their appointed time, Gen 8:22Isa 54:9-10Psa 89:37Psa 104:19-23Jer 31:35-37Jer 33:25-26 then My covenant may also be broken with David My servant and with My ministers the Levites who are priests, so that David will not have a son to reign on his throne. Psa 89:342Ch 7:182Ch 21:72Sa 23:5Luk 1:32-33Luk 1:69-70Mat 24:35Rev 5:10 As the hosts of heaven cannot be counted and as the sand on the seashore cannot be measured, so too will I multiply the descendants of My servant David and the Levites who minister before Me.” Gen 22:17Gen 15:5Heb 11:12Ezk 37:24-27Isa 66:21Jer 31:37Ezk 44:15Gen 13:16

Moreover, the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah: “Have you not noticed what these people are saying: ‘The LORD has rejected the two families He had chosen’? So they despise My people and no longer regard them as a nation. Neh 4:2-4Psa 44:13-14Psa 83:4Est 3:6-8Ezk 25:3Ezk 26:2Ezk 36:2Ezk 37:22 This is what the LORD says: If I have not established My covenant with the day and the night and the fixed order of heaven and earth, Jer 31:35-36Psa 74:16-17Jer 33:20Psa 104:19Gen 8:22Gen 9:9-17 then I would also reject the descendants of Jacob and of My servant David, so as not to take from his descendants rulers over the descendants of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For I will restore them from captivity 7and will have compassion on them.” Jer 31:37Isa 14:1Hos 2:23Ezk 39:25Hos 1:7Isa 54:8Jer 31:20Gen 49:10
