Dead to Sin, Alive to God
(2 Corinthians 4:7–18)
What then shall we say? Shall we continue in sin so that grace may increase? 1Pe 2:16Gal 5:13Rom 6:15Rom 2:4Rom 3:5-8Rom 5:20-21Jud 1:4Rom 3:31 Certainly not! How can we who died to sin live in it any longer? 1Jn 3:9Col 3:31Pe 2:24Rom 7:4Gal 2:19Rom 7:61Pe 1:141Pe 4:1-3 Or aren’t you aware that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Gal 3:27Gal 2:20-21Rom 6:81Co 12:13Rom 6:4-51Pe 3:21Act 2:38Jas 4:4 We were therefore buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may walk in newness of life. 2Co 5:17Col 3:10Eph 4:22-241Pe 3:21Rom 7:6Rom 6:92Co 13:4Rom 6:3
For if we have been united with Him like this in His death, we will certainly also be united with Him in His resurrection. The Wages of Sin
What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law, but under grace? Certainly not! Tit 2:11-14Eph 2:8-102Co 7:1Rom 6:1-2Jud 1:41Co 9:20-21Gal 2:17-18Rom 3:9 Do you not know that when you offer yourselves as obedient slaves, you are slaves to the one you obey, whether you are slaves to sin leading to death, or to obedience leading to righteousness? I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. Just as you used to offer the parts of your body in slavery to impurity and to escalating wickedness, so now offer them in slavery to righteousness leading to holiness. 1Pe 4:2-4Rom 6:13Col 3:5-7Eph 2:2-31Co 6:11Rom 3:5Rom 6:16-17Gal 3:15
For when you were slaves to sin, you were free of obligation to righteousness. Rom 6:16-17Jhn 8:34 What fruit did you reap at that time from the things of which you are now ashamed?
