The Burden against Israel’s Enemies
This is the burden of the word of the LORD Amo 1:3-5Isa 9:8-21Jer 49:23-27Psa 25:152Ch 20:12Amo 3:12Gen 14:15Isa 13:1
against the land of Hadrach
and Damascus its resting place—
for the eyes of men
and of all the tribes of Israel
are upon the LORD 1—
and also against Hamath, Ezk 28:12Jer 49:23Ezk 28:2-51Ki 17:92Ki 23:332Ki 25:21Amo 1:9-10Amo 6:14
which borders it,
as well as Tyre and Sidon,
though they are very shrewd.
Tyre has built herself a fortress; Ezk 27:33Ezk 28:4-5Job 27:16Jos 19:292Sa 24:7Isa 23:81Ki 10:27Job 22:24
she has heaped up silver like dust,
and gold like the dirt of the streets.
Behold, the Lord will impoverish her Ezk 28:18Amo 1:10Ezk 26:17Ezk 26:3-5Ezk 27:26-36Ezk 28:16Ezk 28:2Ezk 28:8
and cast her wealth into the sea, 2
and she will be consumed by fire.
Ashkelon will see and fear; Act 8:26Jer 47:1Rev 18:9-17Zep 2:4-7Ezk 25:15-17Ezk 26:15-21Isa 14:29-31Isa 20:5-6
Gaza will writhe in agony,
as will Ekron,
for her hope will wither.
There will cease to be a king in Gaza,
and Ashkelon will be uninhabited.
A mixed race will occupy Ashdod, Amo 1:81Pe 5:5Zep 2:10Dan 4:37Ecc 2:18-21Ecc 6:2Isa 2:12-17Isa 23:9
and I will cut off the pride of the Philistines.
I will remove the blood from their mouths Gal 3:281Ch 11:4-61Ch 21:151Sa 17:34-362Sa 24:16-23Amo 3:12Ezk 16:57-61Isa 11:12-14
and the abominations from between their teeth.
Then they too will become a remnant for our God;
they will become like a clan 3in Judah,
and Ekron will be like the Jebusites.
But I will camp around My house because of an army, Isa 54:14Isa 52:1Isa 60:18Jer 31:12Jol 3:16-172Sa 16:12Amo 9:15Dan 11:27-29
because of those who march to and fro,
and never again will an oppressor overrun My people,
for now I keep watch with My own eyes.

See, your King comes to you,
righteous and victorious, 4
humble and riding on a donkey,
on a colt, the foal of a donkey. 5
And I will cut off the chariot from Ephraim 6 Hos 1:7Hos 2:182Co 10:4-5Col 1:20-21Psa 72:7-11Rev 11:15Eph 2:13-17Isa 49:6

Then He will proclaim peace to the nations.
His dominion will extend from sea to sea,
and from the Euphrates 7
to the ends of the earth.

drenched like the corners of the altar.
