Adin

An ancestor of a group of people who returned to Judah with Zerubbabel after the exile in Babylon. A comparison of various lists shows that different groups of Adin’s descendants returned at different times (Ezra 2:15; 8:6; Nehemiah 7:20; 1 Esdras 5:14; 8:32).

A political leader who signed Ezra’s promise to be faithful to God with Nehemiah and others after the exile in Babylon (Nehemiah 10:16).
