Avvites

An ancient people who lived in villages near Gaza before they were destroyed by a Philistine invasion (Deuteronomy 2:23; Joshua 13:3).

The name for the people who lived in the Syrian district of Avva. Shalmaneser of Assyria moved them into Samaria after the conquest in 722 BC (2 Kings 17:31).
