Carnelian
Carnelian is a type of chalcedony, which is a form of quartz. Its color can range from deep red to pale pink or almost white. It is made of silicon and oxygen. Some Bible translations use “carnelian” and “sardius” for the same stone. Sardius is a type of deep brown or red quartz
The Bible lists carnelian as one of the foundation jewels in the wall of the new Jerusalem (Revelation 21:20).
