Choba

Choba was a village mentioned in the book of Judith. The Jews fortified it when the Assyrian commander Holofernes invaded Palestine (Judith 4:4). The precise location of Choba is unknown. It may be el-Makhubbi, 4.8 kilometers (three miles) from Besan. Or, it may refer to the Hobah mentioned in Genesis 14:15. The Jews pursued the army of Holofernes to Choba and beyond Damascus (Judith 15:4–5).
