Chyrsolite is a yellow-green or olive-green precious stone. Today, the name chrysolite usually refers to a gem-quality form of olivine. Olivine is a mineral made mainly of magnesium, iron, silicon, and oxygen.
The Greek word chrysolithos appears only once in the New Testament. The exact identity of the stone named in the Bible is uncertain. It is the seventh foundation stone of the New Jerusalem (Revelation 21:20).
