Eternal Punishment

Eternal punishment refers to ongoing judgment (lasting consequence for sin) after death. It describes separation from God (being cut off from his presence and life).

In the New Testament, this idea is often connected with final judgment (see Matthew 25:46).

Different Christian traditions understand eternal punishment in different ways, but all agree that it relates to God’s justice and the seriousness of sin.
