Execution

Execution is the carrying out of a death sentence as punishment for a crime. In the Bible, execution was the penalty for certain offenses under the Law of Moses. Different methods of execution were used, including stoning, burning, hanging a body after death, and, in New Testament times, crucifixion (Leviticus 20:2, 14; Deuteronomy 21:22–23; John 19:16–18).
