Exile

Exile is the forced removal of people from their homeland. In the Bible, many Israelites and Jews were taken away after foreign armies defeated their kingdoms. The Assyrians exiled people from the northern kingdom of Israel, and the Babylonians later exiled many people from Judah. Some eventually returned, while others remained scattered among other nations.
