Gray

In the Bible, the color “gray,” appears only in the Old Testament. It always describes old age, especially gray hair or a person with gray hair (Genesis 42:38; 44:29–31; Deuteronomy 32:25; 1 Samuel 12:2; 1 Kings 2:6, 9; Job 15:10; Psalm 71:18; Proverbs 20:29; Isaiah 46:4; Hosea 7:9).

A different Hebrew word describes the “dappled” horses in Zechariah 6:3. In this verse, the word probably means “spotted” or “speckled” rather than gray.
