Reuben’s son (Genesis 46:9; Exodus 6:14; 1 Chronicles 5:3) and founder of the Hezronite family in the tribe of Reuben (Numbers 26:6).

Perez’s son (Genesis 46:12; Ruth 4:18–19; 1 Chronicles 2:5–25; 4:1) and founder of the Hezronite family in the tribe of Judah (Numbers 26:21), An ancestor of Jesus Christ (Matthew 1:3; Luke 3:33).
