Holy One of Israel

The Holy One of Israel is a title for God. It shows that God is holy. This means he is set apart, completely different from everything God made, and completely free from evil. The title also shows God's special relationship with the people of Israel.

This title appears often in the book of Isaiah. Because God is holy, he judges sin. But he also promises to rescue his people (Isaiah 41:14). The title reminds readers that the God of Israel is powerful, faithful, and worthy of worship.
