Hymn, Hymnody
A hymn is a song of praise or worship, especially one sung to God. Hymnody is the writing, study, or collection of hymns.
The Bible includes many songs of praise, especially in the book of Psalms. The New Testament also speaks of believers singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16).
