Peace Offering
A peace offering was a sacrifice that expressed fellowship with God. It could be offered as an act of thanksgiving, to fulfill a vow, or as a freewill gift. The fat portions were burned on the altar, part of the animal was given to the priests, and the worshiper and others ate the rest as a shared meal (Leviticus 3:1–17; 7:11–21, 28–34).
