தாவீது தேவனை நோக்கி: மக்களை எண்ணச்சொன்னவன் நான் அல்லவோ? நான்தான் பாவம் செய்தேன்; தீங்கு நடக்கச்செய்தேன்; இந்த ஆடுகள் என்ன செய்தது? என்னுடைய தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவே, தண்டிக்கும்படி உம்முடைய கரம் உம்முடைய மக்களுக்கு விரோதமாக இராமல், எனக்கும் என்னுடைய தகப்பன் வீட்டிற்கும் விரோதமாக இருப்பதாக என்றான்.

And David said to God, “Was it not I who gave the order to count the people? I am the one who has sinned and acted wickedly. But these sheep, what have they done? O LORD my God, please let Your hand fall upon me and my father’s house, but do not let this plague remain upon Your people.”
