ஆகவே, உம்முடைய அடியானுக்குத் தயை செய்யவேண்டும்; யெகோவாவுக்கு முன்பாக உம்முடைய அடியானோடே உடன்படிக்கை செய்திருக்கிறீரே; என்னில் ஒரு அக்கிரமம் இருந்தால், நீரே என்னைக் கொன்றுபோடும்; நீர் என்னை உம்முடைய தகப்பனிடத்திற்குக் கொண்டு போகவேண்டியது என்ன என்றான்.

Therefore deal faithfully with your servant, for you have brought me into a covenant with you before the LORD. If there is iniquity in me, then kill me yourself; why should you bring me to your father?”
