தேசங்களுடைய மக்களின் தெய்வங்கள் தங்கள் மக்களை என் கைக்குத் தப்புவிக்காதிருந்ததுபோல, எசேக்கியாவின் தேவனும் தன் மக்களை என் கைக்குத் தப்புவிப்பதில்லையென்று இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய யெகோவாவை அவமதிக்கவும், அவருக்கு விரோதமாகப் பேசவும் அவன் கடிதங்களையும் எழுதினான்.

He also wrote letters mocking the LORD, the God of Israel, and saying against Him: “Just as the gods of the nations did not deliver their people from my hand, so the God of Hezekiah will not deliver His people from my hand.”
