தேவன்மேல் தன்னை ஆணையிடச் செய்த நேபுகாத்நேச்சார் என்னும் ராஜாவுக்கு விரோதமாகக் கலகம்செய்து, இஸ்ரவேலின் தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரிடத்திற்குத் திரும்பாமல், தன் கழுத்தை அழுத்தமாக்கி, தன் இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்தினான்.
