அப்பொழுது தாவீது அந்த ஆளை நோக்கி: நீ யோவாபினிடம் போய், இந்தக் காரியத்தைப்பற்றிக் கலங்கவேண்டாம்; பட்டயம் ஒருமுறை ஒருவனையும், மற்றொருமுறை வேறொருவனையும் தாக்கும்; நீ யுத்தத்தைப் பலக்கச்செய்து, பட்டணத்தை இடித்துப்போடு என்று அவனைத் தைரியப்படுத்து என்றான்.

Then David told the messenger, “Say this to Joab: ‘Do not let this matter upset you, for the sword devours one as well as another. Strengthen your attack against the city and demolish it.’ Encourage him with these words.”
