அந்தப் பட்டணங்களெல்லாம் உயர்ந்த மதில்களாலும், வாசல்களாலும், தாழ்ப்பாள்களாலும் பாதுகாக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது; மட்டுமின்றி அவைகளில் மதில் இல்லாத பட்டணங்களும் அநேகம் இருந்தன.

All these cities were fortified with high walls and gates and bars, and there were many more unwalled villages.
