ஒருவன் நூறு பிள்ளைகளைப் பெற்று, அநேகம் வருடங்கள் வாழ்ந்து, தீர்க்காயுசை அடைந்திருந்தாலும், அவனுடைய ஆத்துமா அந்தச் செல்வத்தால் திருப்தியடையாமலும், அவனுக்குப் பிரேதக்கல்லறை முதலாக இல்லாமலும் போனால், அவனைவிட கரு சிதைந்த பிண்டமே சிறப்பானது என்கிறேன்.

A man may father a hundred children and live for many years; yet no matter how long he lives, if he is unsatisfied with his prosperity and does not even receive a proper burial, I say that a stillborn child is better off than he.
