தேவன் வெளிச்சத்திற்குப் பகல் என்றும், இருளுக்கு இரவு என்றும் பெயரிட்டார்; சாயங்காலமும் விடியற்காலமுமாகி முதலாம் நாள் முடிந்தது.

God called the light “day,” and the darkness He called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
