பூமியெங்கும் பேசப்பட்ட மொழியைக் யெகோவா அந்த இடத்தில் தாறுமாறாக்கியதால், அதின் பெயர் பாபேல் எனப்பட்டது; யெகோவா அவர்களை அந்த இடத்திலிருந்து பூமியெங்கும் சிதறிப்போகச் செய்தார்.

That is why it is called Babel, for there the LORD confused the language of the whole world, and from that place the LORD scattered them over the face of all the earth.
