இப்படியிருக்க, நியாயப்பிரமாணமானது வரப்போகிற நன்மைகளின் பொருளாக இல்லாமல், அவைகளின் நிழலாகமட்டும் இருக்கிறதினால், ஒவ்வொரு வருடமும் இடைவிடாமல் செலுத்தப்பட்டுவருகிற ஒரேவிதமான பலிகளினாலே அவைகளைச் செலுத்த வருகிறவர்களை ஒருபோதும் பூரணப்படுத்தாது.

For the law is only a shadow of the good things to come, not the realities themselves. It can never, by the same sacrifices offered year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship.
