இப்படிச் செய்தவன் யார் என்று பெலிஸ்தர்கள் கேட்கிறபோது, திம்னாத்தானுடைய மருமகனான சிம்சோன்தான்; அவனுடைய மனைவியை அவனுடைய நண்பனுக்குத் திருமணம் செய்துகொடுத்ததினால் அப்படிச் செய்தான் என்றார்கள்; அப்பொழுது பெலிஸ்தர்கள் போய், அவளையும் அவள் தகப்பனையும் அக்கினியால் சுட்டெரித்தார்கள்.

“Who did this?” the Philistines demanded. “It was Samson, the son-in-law of the Timnite,” they were told. “For his wife was given to his companion.” So the Philistines went up and burned her and her father to death.
