நான் யூதா தேசத்திலே ஆளுநராக இருக்க ராஜாவாகிய அர்தசஷ்டா எனக்கு நியமித்த நாளாகிய அவருடைய இருபதாம் வருடம் முதல் அவருடைய முப்பத்திரண்டாம் வருடம் வரைக்கும் இருந்த பன்னிரண்டு வருட காலங்களாக, நானும் என்னுடைய சகோதரர்களும் ஆளுநர்கள் உணவுக்காக வாங்குகிற பணத்தை பெற்றுக்கொள்ளவில்லை.
