Pispa is mentioned in 1Ch.7.38 as one of the sons of Jether, who was a descendant of Asher. Asher was one of the twelve sons of Israel (or 'Jacob') and a founder of one of the tribes of Israel. The genealogy in 1Chronicles 7 traces the lineage of the tribe of Asher, listing the heads of families and their descendants. Pispa is mentioned alongside his brothers Jephunneh and Ara.
