and a place for gold which they refine.

and copper is smelted out of the ore.

and searches out, to the furthest bound,

the stones of obscurity and of thick darkness.

He breaks open a shaft away from where people live.

They are forgotten by the foot.

They hang far from men, they swing back and forth.

Underneath it is turned up as it were by fire.

It has dust of gold.

neither has the falcon’s eye seen it.

The proud animals have not trodden it,

nor has the fierce lion passed by there.

He puts his hand on the flinty rock, Nam 1:4-6

and he overturns the mountains by the roots.

His eye sees every precious thing.

The thing that is hidden he brings out to light.

Where is the place of understanding?

Man doesn’t know its price, Pro 3:14-15Pro 8:11Pro 8:18-19Ecc 8:16-17Isa 53:8Job 28:15-19Job 28:21-22Mat 13:44-46

and it isn’t found in the land of the living.

The deep says, ‘It isn’t in me.’ Rom 11:33-34

The sea says, ‘It isn’t with me.’

It can’t be gotten for gold, Pro 16:16Pro 3:13-15Pro 8:10-11Pro 8:19Job 28:18Pro 8:17

neither will silver be weighed for its price.

It can’t be valued with the gold of Ophir, Ezk 28:13Isa 13:12Psa 45:91Ch 29:4Exo 28:20

with the precious onyx, or the sapphire. 1

neither will it be exchanged for jewels of fine gold.

Yes, the price of wisdom is above rubies.

It won’t be valued with pure gold.

Where is the place of understanding?

Seeing it is hidden from the eyes of all living, Psa 49:3-41Co 2:7-10Col 2:3Mat 11:25Mat 13:35Mat 13:17

and kept close from the birds of the sky.

Destruction and Death say, Job 26:6Psa 83:10-12Job 28:14

‘We have heard a rumor of it with our ears.’

and he knows its place.

and sees under the whole sky.

Yes, he measures out the waters by measure.

and a way for the lightning of the thunder,

then he saw it, and declared it. Psa 19:1Pro 8:22-29

He established it, yes, and searched it out.

‘Behold, the fear of the Lord, 2 that is wisdom.

To depart from evil is understanding.’”
