And unlike David his father, he did not do what was right in the eyes of the LORD his God. 2Ch 28:1-41Ki 11:4-81Ki 15:31Ki 3:141Ki 9:42Ch 17:32Ch 29:22Ch 34:2-3 Instead, he walked in the ways of the kings of Israel and even sacrificed his son in the fire, 1 according to the abominations of the nations that the LORD had driven out before the Israelites. The Idolatry of Ahaz
(2 Chronicles 28:16–27)
Then King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-pileser king of Assyria. On seeing the altar in Damascus, King Ahaz sent Uriah the priest a model of the altar and complete plans for its construction. Ezk 23:16-17Isa 8:2Rom 12:21Ch 28:11-121Ch 28:191Pe 1:182Ch 28:23-252Ki 15:29 And Uriah the priest built the altar according to all the instructions King Ahaz had sent from Damascus, and he completed it by the time King Ahaz had returned. 1Ki 21:11-132Ch 26:17-18Dan 3:7Ezk 22:26Gal 1:10Hos 4:6Hos 5:11Isa 8:2
When the king came back from Damascus and saw the altar, he approached it and presented offerings on it. 2Ch 26:16-191Ki 13:12Ch 28:232Ch 28:25Num 18:4-7 He offered his burnt offering and his grain offering, poured out his drink offering, and sprinkled the blood of his peace offerings on the altar. Lev 1:1-3 He also took the bronze altar that stood before the LORD from the front of the temple (between the new altar and the house of the LORD) and he put it on the north side of the new altar. 2Ch 4:1Exo 40:29Exo 40:62Ch 1:52Ki 16:11Mat 23:35
Then King Ahaz commanded Uriah the priest, “Offer on the great altar the morning burnt offering, the evening grain offering, and the king’s burnt offering and grain offering, as well as the burnt offerings, grain offerings, and drink offerings of all the people of the land. Sprinkle on the altar all the blood of the burnt offerings and sacrifices. But I will use the bronze altar to seek guidance.” Exo 29:39-411Ki 8:642Ch 29:21-242Ki 18:41Ki 3:42Ch 29:322Ch 29:352Ch 33:6
So Uriah the priest did just as King Ahaz had commanded. 1Th 2:42Ki 16:11Act 4:19Act 5:29Jud 1:11
