Signs of the Coming Captivity

Then the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Son of man, you are living in a rebellious house. They have eyes to see but do not see, and ears to hear but do not hear, for they are a rebellious house. Jer 5:21Mrk 4:12Jhn 9:39-41Psa 78:40Eph 4:18Isa 1:23Jer 9:1-62Co 3:14

Therefore, son of man, pack your bags for exile. In broad daylight, set out from your place and go to another as they watch. Perhaps they will understand, though they are a rebellious house. Jer 36:32Ti 2:25Jer 26:3Jer 36:7Luk 20:13Deu 32:29Deu 5:29Ezk 12:10-12 Bring out your baggage for exile by day, as they watch. Then in the evening, as they watch, go out like those who go into exile. Jer 39:42Ki 25:4Ezk 12:12Jer 52:7

As they watch, dig through the wall and carry your belongings out through it. 2Ki 25:4Jer 39:2-4 And as they watch, lift your bags to your shoulder and take them out at dusk; cover your face so that you cannot see the land. For I have made you a sign to the house of Israel.” Ezk 4:3Ezk 24:24Isa 8:181Sa 28:8Ezk 12:11-122Sa 15:30Isa 20:2-4Job 24:17

So I did as I was commanded. I brought out my bags for exile by day, and in the evening I dug through the wall by hand. I took my belongings out at dusk, carrying them on my shoulder as they watched. Ezk 24:18Ezk 37:10Ezk 37:7Act 26:19Ezk 12:3Ezk 2:8Jer 32:8-12Jhn 15:14

And in the morning the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Son of man, hasn’t the rebellious house of Israel asked you, ‘What are you doing?’ Ezk 17:12Ezk 24:19Ezk 20:49Ezk 12:1-3Ezk 2:5-8 Tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘This burden concerns the prince in Jerusalem and all the house of Israel who are there.’ 2Ki 9:25Isa 13:1Ezk 17:13-21Ezk 21:25-27Ezk 7:27Isa 14:28Jer 21:7Jer 24:8

You are to say, ‘I am a sign to you.’ Just as it happened here, 1 so will it be done to them; they will go into exile as captives. Jer 15:2Jer 52:15Jer 52:28-30Ezk 12:6 And at dusk the prince among them will lift his bags to his shoulder and go out. They will dig through the wall to bring him out. He will cover his face so he cannot see the land. 2Ki 25:4Jer 39:4Ezk 12:6Jer 42:7Jer 52:7 But I will spread My net over him, and he will be caught in My snare. I will bring him to Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans; yet he will not see it, and there he will die. Ezk 17:20Hos 7:12Jer 39:7Isa 24:17-182Ki 25:5-7Ezk 17:16Ezk 32:3Ezk 19:8-9

And I will scatter to every wind all the attendants around him and all his troops, and I will draw a sword to chase after them. Moreover, the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Son of man, eat your bread with trembling, and drink your water with quivering and anxiety. The Presumptuous Proverb

Again the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Son of man, what is this proverb that you have in the land of Israel: Ezk 18:2-3Ezk 11:3Ezk 12:272Pe 3:3-4Amo 6:3Isa 5:19Jer 23:33-40Jer 5:12-13

and every vision fails’?

Therefore tell them that this is what the Lord GOD says: ‘I will put an end to this proverb, and in Israel they will no longer recite it.’ Jol 2:1Ezk 18:3Ezk 7:5-7Mat 24:34Zep 1:14Jas 5:8-9Ezk 12:25Ezk 7:10-12

But say to them: ‘The days are at hand when every vision will be fulfilled. For there will be no more false visions or flattering divinations within the house of Israel, Ezk 13:23Jer 14:13-16Zec 13:2-41Ki 22:11-131Ki 22:171Th 2:52Pe 2:2-3Ezk 13:6 because I, the LORD, will speak whatever word I speak, and it will be fulfilled without delay. Furthermore, the word of the LORD came to me, saying, “Son of man, take note that the house of Israel is saying, ‘The vision that he sees is for many years from now; he prophesies about the distant future.’ Dan 10:142Pe 3:4Ezk 12:22Isa 28:14-15
