The Sovereignty of God

Hear the word that the LORD speaks to you, O house of Israel. 1Th 2:13Amo 7:16Hos 4:1Jer 13:15-17Jer 42:15Rev 2:29Isa 1:10Isa 28:14 This is what the LORD says: Lev 20:23Lev 18:3Ezk 20:32Luk 21:25-28Deu 12:30-31Isa 47:12-14

“Do not learn the ways of the nations

or be terrified by the signs in the heavens,

though the nations themselves are terrified by them.

For the customs of the peoples are worthless; 1Pe 1:18Isa 44:9-20Lev 18:30Jer 10:8Rom 1:21Isa 45:20Mat 6:71Ki 18:26-28

it is shaped with a chisel

by the hands of a craftsman.

They adorn it with silver and gold Isa 46:7Isa 40:19-20Isa 41:6-7Isa 44:12Psa 115:4Psa 135:15

and fasten it with hammer and nails,

so that it will not totter.

Like scarecrows in a cucumber patch, Isa 46:71Co 12:2Isa 41:23-24Psa 115:5-81Co 8:4Hab 2:19Isa 46:1Psa 135:16-18

their idols cannot speak.

They must be carried

because they cannot walk.

Do not fear them, for they can do no harm,

and neither can they do any good.”

There is none like You, O LORD. Exo 15:11Psa 96:4Psa 48:1Deu 33:26Isa 12:6Psa 145:32Sa 7:22Dan 4:3

This is Your due.

For among all the wise men of the nations,

and in all their kingdoms,

there is none like You.

But they are altogether senseless and foolish, Jer 10:14Zec 10:2Hab 2:18Isa 41:29Jer 51:17-18Psa 115:8Psa 135:18Rom 1:21-22

and gold from Uphaz—

the work of a craftsman

from the hands of a goldsmith.

Their clothes are blue and purple,

all fashioned by skilled workers.

But the LORD is the true God; Deu 32:4Isa 57:15Nam 1:6Psa 76:7Psa 104:32Psa 18:7Psa 31:5Psa 42:2

He is the living God and eternal King.

The earth quakes at His wrath,

and the nations cannot endure His indignation.

Thus you are to tell them: “These gods, who have made neither the heavens nor the earth, will perish from this earth and from under these heavens.” 1 Psa 96:5Isa 2:18Jer 10:15Jer 51:18Lam 3:66Zec 13:2Zep 2:11Rev 20:2

The LORD made the earth by His power; Gen 1:1Job 9:8Pro 3:19Isa 40:22Col 1:16Jhn 1:3Psa 24:2Isa 42:5

He established the world by His wisdom

and stretched out the heavens by His understanding.

every goldsmith is put to shame by his idols.

For his molten images are a fraud,

and there is no breath in them.

They are worthless, a work to be mocked. Isa 41:24Jer 14:22Jer 51:18Isa 2:18-21Jer 8:12Jer 8:19Jon 2:8Zec 13:2

for He is the Maker of all things,

the LORD of Hosts is His name.

The Coming Captivity of Judah

Gather up your belongings from this land, you who live under siege. Ezk 12:3-12Jer 6:1Mat 24:15Mic 2:10Jer 21:13 For this is what the LORD says: 1Sa 25:29Zec 1:6Deu 28:63-64Ezk 6:10Jer 15:1-2Jer 16:13Jer 23:20

“Behold, at this time I will sling out

My sons have departed from me

and are no more.

I have no one left to pitch my tent

For the shepherds have become senseless; Ezk 34:2-10Jer 12:10Jer 23:1-2Isa 56:10-12Ezk 22:25-30Ezk 34:12Jer 10:8Jer 2:8
