Judgment to Continue

Then the LORD said to me: “Even if Moses and Samuel should stand before Me, My heart would not go out to this people. Send them from My presence, and let them go. ‘Those destined for death, to death;

I will appoint over them four kinds of destroyers, declares the LORD: the sword to kill, the dogs to drag away, and the birds of the air and beasts of the earth to devour and destroy. anguish and dismay.

And the rest I will put to the sword

in the presence of their enemies,”

declares the LORD.

Jeremiah’s Woe

Woe to me, my mother, Luk 6:22Act 16:20-22Act 17:6-8Ezk 3:7-9Jer 1:18-19Jer 15:20Job 3:1-26Luk 2:34

that you have borne me,

a man of strife and conflict

in all the land.

I have neither lent nor borrowed,

yet everyone curses me.

The LORD said: Pro 16:7Jer 29:11-14Psa 106:46Psa 37:3-11Ecc 8:12Jer 37:3Jer 21:2Jer 40:2-6

“Surely I will deliver you for a good purpose;

surely I will intercede with your enemy

in your time of trouble,

in your time of distress.

Can anyone smash iron— Hab 1:5-10Isa 45:9Jer 1:18-19Jer 21:4-5Jer 28:14Job 40:9

iron from the north—or bronze?

Your wealth and your treasures Jer 17:3Psa 44:12Isa 52:3Jer 20:5Isa 52:5Jer 15:8

I will give up as plunder,

without charge for all your sins

within all your borders.

Then I will enslave you to your enemies Deu 32:22Jer 16:13Deu 28:36Jer 17:4Psa 21:9Deu 28:64Amo 5:27Deu 28:25

You understand, O LORD; Jer 12:3Psa 69:7-9Luk 21:17Jer 17:16Jer 20:12Neh 13:221Pe 4:14-16Jer 20:8

In Your patience, do not take me away.

Know that I endure reproach for Your honor.

Your words were found, and I ate them. Rev 10:9-10Ezk 3:1-3Psa 119:101-103Job 23:12Psa 19:10Psa 119:111Psa 119:97Psa 119:72

Your words became my joy

and my heart’s delight.

For I bear Your name,

O LORD God of Hosts.

I never sat with the band of revelers, Lam 3:28Psa 1:1Ezk 3:24-25Psa 26:4-52Co 6:17Jer 13:17Jer 6:11Psa 102:7

nor did I celebrate with them.

Because Your hand was on me, I sat alone,

for You have filled me with indignation.

Why is my pain unending, Jer 30:15Job 34:6Mic 1:9Jer 1:18-19Jer 14:19Jer 14:3Jer 20:7Jer 30:12

and my wound incurable,

refusing to be healed?

You have indeed become like a mirage to me—

water that is not there.

The LORD’s Promise

Therefore this is what the LORD says: Zec 3:7Luk 21:15Lev 10:10Ezk 44:23Ezk 22:26Jud 1:24Gal 1:10Heb 5:14

“If you return, I will restore you;

you will stand in My presence.

And if you speak words that are noble instead of worthless,

you will be My spokesman.

It is they who must turn to you,

but you must not turn to them.

Then I will make you a wall to this people, Jer 1:18-19Ezk 3:9Act 18:9-10Psa 124:1-3Psa 46:72Ti 4:16-17Isa 41:10Isa 8:9-10
