Job Laments His Birth

After this, Job opened his mouth and cursed the day of his birth. Jer 20:14-15Psa 106:33Psa 39:2-3Job 1:22Job 2:5Job 2:9-10Job 3:3Job 35:16 And this is what he said: Jdg 18:14

“May the day of my birth perish, Jer 20:14-18Jer 15:10Job 10:18-19

and the night it was said,

‘A boy is conceived.’

If only that day had turned to darkness! Act 27:20Amo 5:18Deu 11:12Exo 10:22-23Jol 2:2Mat 27:45Rev 16:10

May God above disregard it;

may no light shine upon it.

May darkness and gloom reclaim it, Job 10:21-22Job 28:3Jer 2:6Psa 23:4Deu 4:11Ezk 34:12Isa 9:2Jer 13:16

and a cloud settle over it;

may the blackness of the day overwhelm it.

If only darkness had taken that night away!

May it not appear among the days of the year;

may it never be entered in any of the months.

Behold, may that night be barren; Isa 13:20-22Isa 24:8Jer 7:34Rev 18:22-23

may no joyful voice come into it.

May it be cursed by those who curse the day 1 Job 41:1Job 41:102Ch 35:25Amo 5:16Jer 9:17-18Job 41:25Mat 11:17Mrk 5:38
