The Wedding at Cana

On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, Jhn 4:46Pro 31:10-12Jhn 1:43Jhn 21:2Mat 12:46Pro 18:22Gen 2:18-25Jhn 1:29 and Jesus and His disciples had also been invited to the wedding. “Woman, why does this concern us?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” Jhn 7:6Jhn 13:1Jhn 7:30Jhn 8:20Jhn 12:23Ecc 3:1Jhn 19:26-27Mat 8:29

Now six stone water jars had been set there for the Jewish rites of purification. Each could hold from twenty to thirty gallons. 1 Jhn 3:25Eph 5:26Heb 9:10Mrk 7:2-5Heb 10:22Heb 9:19Heb 6:2 Jesus told the servants, “Fill the jars with water.” 2Ki 4:2-6Jhn 2:51Ki 17:13Jhn 2:3Mrk 11:2-6Mrk 14:12-172Ki 5:10-14Jos 6:3-5

So they filled them to the brim.

“Now draw some out,” He said, “and take it to the master of the banquet.” Jhn 2:9Pro 3:5-6Rom 13:7Ecc 9:6

They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not know where it was from, but the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside Jhn 4:46Jhn 7:17Psa 119:100 and said, “Everyone serves the fine wine first, and then the cheap wine after the guests are drunk. But you have saved the fine wine until now!” Rev 7:16-17Pro 9:1-6Luk 16:25Psa 104:15Gen 43:34Pro 9:16-18Sng 5:1

Jesus performed this, the first of His signs, at Cana in Galilee. He thus revealed His glory, and His disciples believed in Him. Jhn 20:30-31Jhn 1:14Jhn 3:2Jhn 6:2Isa 40:5Jhn 6:14Jhn 6:26Jhn 6:30

After this, He went down to Capernaum with His mother and brothers and His disciples, and they stayed there a few days. Mat 12:461Co 9:5Act 1:13-14Gal 1:19Jhn 7:3-5Mat 13:55-56Mat 4:13Mrk 6:3

His disciples remembered that it is written: “Zeal for Your house will consume Me.” 3 Psa 69:9Psa 119:139

On account of this, the Jews demanded, “What sign can You show us to prove Your authority to do these things?” Luk 11:29Jhn 6:30Mat 21:23Mrk 11:27-28Mrk 8:11Act 4:7Act 5:28Jhn 1:25
