Hasshub

A Merari clan leader of the tribe of Levi. Hasshub was the father of Shemaiah. Shemaiah lived in Jerusalem after the return from exile in Babylon (1 Chronicles 9:14; Nehemiah 11:15).

Pahath-moab’s son, who fixed a section of the Jerusalem wall and the Tower of the Ovens during the time of Nehemiah (Nehemiah 3:11).

Another man who repaired the Jerusalem wall across from his house (Nehemiah 3:23).

A leader who signed Ezra’s promise to be faithful to God with Nehemiah and others after the exile in Babylon (Nehemiah 10:23).
