Hasshub was a Levite who lived in Jerusalem after the return from Babylonian exile. He is mentioned in the lists of inhabitants of Jerusalem recorded in 1 Chronicles and Nehemiah. In both passages, Hasshub is identified as a Levite, indicating his role in the religious life of the community. The Levites were responsible for various duties in the temple and in the worship services. No other information is provided about Hasshub in the Bible. (1Ch.9.14; Neh.11.15).
