Hatipha is mentioned as an ancestor of a group of temple servants (Nethinim) who returned to Jerusalem from Babylonian captivity. The temple servants were a class of people assigned to assist the Levites in the maintenance and service of the temple. In the lists of returnees recorded in Ezra and Nehemiah, the descendants of Hatipha are mentioned among the temple servants. No further information about Hatipha is provided in the Bible. (Ezr.2.54; Neh.7.56).
