Hattil is mentioned as an ancestor of a group of Solomon's servants who returned to Jerusalem from Babylonian captivity. Solomon's servants were a class of people who were assigned to various duties in the service of the king and the temple. In the lists of returnees recorded in Ezra and Nehemiah, the descendants of Hattil are mentioned among Solomon's servants. No further information about Hattil is provided in the Bible. (Ezr.2.57; Neh.7.59).
