Roles in Worship

You are to imitate me, just as I imitate Christ. Php 3:171Th 1:6Eph 5:1-21Co 4:16Heb 6:12Php 2:4-52Th 3:9Rom 15:2-3

Now I commend you for remembering me in everything and for maintaining the traditions, just as I passed them on to you. 2Th 2:151Co 4:17Pro 31:28-311Co 11:171Co 11:221Co 15:22Th 3:6Luk 1:6 But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, and the head of the woman is man, and the head of Christ is God. Gen 3:16Col 1:181Co 3:23Col 3:18Eph 4:151Pe 3:5-6Col 2:19Eph 5:22-24

Every man who prays or prophesies with his head covered dishonors his head. 2Sa 15:301Co 11:141Co 12:101Co 12:282Sa 19:41Co 14:1-25 And every woman who prays or prophesies with her head uncovered dishonors her head, for it is just as if her head were shaved. Deu 21:12Luk 2:36Act 2:171Co 14:34Act 21:9 If a woman does not cover her head, she should have her hair cut off. And if it is shameful for a woman to have her hair cut or shaved off, she should cover her head. Deu 22:5Num 5:18

A man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but the woman is the glory of man. 1Co 11:3Gen 9:6Gen 1:26-27Gen 5:1Psa 8:6Gen 3:16Jas 3:9 For man did not come from woman, but woman from man. 1Ti 2:13Gen 2:21-23 Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. Gen 2:18Gen 2:23-24Gen 2:20 For this reason a woman ought to have a sign of authority on 1her head, because of the angels. Gen 24:64-65Heb 1:14Mat 18:10Gen 20:16Ecc 5:6

In the Lord, however, woman is not independent of man, nor is man independent of woman. Gal 3:281Co 7:10-141Co 12:12-22 For just as woman came from man, so also man is born of woman. But everything comes from God. Rom 11:361Co 8:6Heb 1:2-3Pro 16:4

Judge for yourselves: Is it proper for a woman to pray to God with her head uncovered? Luk 12:571Co 10:15Jhn 7:24 Doesn’t nature itself teach you that if a man has long hair, it is a disgrace to him, 2Sa 14:261Co 14:35 but that if a woman has long hair, it is her glory? For long hair is given to her as a covering. If anyone is inclined to dispute this, we have no other practice, nor do the churches of God. 1Co 7:171Ti 6:3-41Th 2:141Co 14:33-34Act 21:24Act 21:211Co 16:1

Sharing in the Lord’s Supper

(Matthew 26:20–30; Mark 14:17–26; Luke 22:14–23)

In the following instructions I have no praise to offer, because your gatherings do more harm than good. Heb 10:251Co 11:221Co 14:231Pe 2:14Isa 58:1-41Co 11:21Co 14:26Lev 19:17 First of all, I hear that when you come together as a church, there are divisions among you, and in part I believe it. 1Co 3:31Co 1:10-121Co 5:11Co 6:1 And indeed, there must be differences among you to show which of you are approved. 1Jn 2:19Tit 3:10Act 20:30Deu 13:3Luk 17:12Pe 2:1-2Mat 18:71Ti 4:1-2

Now then, when you come together, it is not the Lord’s Supper you eat. For as you eat, each of you goes ahead without sharing his meal. 2 While one remains hungry, another gets drunk. 2Pe 2:13Jud 1:121Co 10:16-181Co 11:23-25 Don’t you have your own homes in which to eat and drink? Or do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who have nothing? What can I say to you? Shall I praise you for this? No, I will not! Pro 17:5Act 20:28Jas 2:5-61Co 10:321Ti 3:151Co 11:171Co 11:21Ti 3:5

For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night He was betrayed, took bread, Luk 22:19-20Mat 26:26-281Co 11:23-25Mrk 14:22-241Co 15:31Th 4:2Deu 4:5Gal 1:11-12 and when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “This is My body, which is for you; 3 do this in remembrance of Me.” Jhn 6:53-581Co 11:27-281Co 10:3-41Co 10:16-17Exo 12:14Isa 26:81Co 5:7-8Isa 55:1-3 In the same way, after supper He took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in My blood; do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of Me.” Luk 22:20Heb 9:15-20Heb 13:202Co 3:61Co 10:162Co 3:141Co 11:27-28 For as often as you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until He comes. Heb 9:28Rev 1:7Jhn 14:31Jn 2:28Act 1:112Pe 3:10Jhn 21:221Co 15:23

Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the 4body and blood of the Lord. Jhn 6:511Co 10:21Heb 10:29Num 9:13Lev 10:1-3Num 9:10Jhn 6:63-642Ch 30:18-20 Each one must examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. Gal 6:42Co 13:5Lam 3:40Mat 5:23-241Co 11:31Hag 1:5Psa 26:2-7Hag 1:7 For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body 5eats and drinks judgment on himself. 1Co 11:271Co 11:241Co 11:301Co 11:32-34Ecc 8:5Heb 5:14Jas 3:1Jas 5:12 That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep. Rev 3:19Exo 15:26Amo 3:2Num 20:12Psa 38:1-81Ki 13:21-241Th 4:142Sa 12:14-18

Now if we judged ourselves properly, we would not come under judgment. 1Jn 1:9Psa 32:3-5Rev 2:51Co 11:28Luk 15:18-20Rev 3:2-3Jer 31:18-20 But when we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world. Heb 12:5-11Pro 3:11-12Psa 118:18Rev 3:19Deu 8:5Job 5:17-181Co 11:30Jer 7:28

So, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for one another. If anyone is hungry, he should eat at home, so that when you come together it will not result in judgment. And when I come, I will give instructions about the remaining matters. 1Co 11:21-221Co 4:191Co 7:171Co 16:2Tit 1:51Co 16:5
