Babylon Is Fallen

(Revelation 18:1–8)

This is the burden against the Desert by the Sea: Isa 14:23Isa 13:1Jer 51:42Zec 9:14Isa 13:20-22Isa 17:1Dan 11:40Ezk 31:12

Like whirlwinds sweeping through the Negev,

an invader comes from the desert,

from a land of terror.

A dire vision is declared to me: Isa 33:1Jer 49:34Isa 24:16Psa 60:3Dan 5:28Rev 13:101Sa 24:13Dan 8:20

“The traitor still betrays,

and the destroyer still destroys.

Go up, O Elam! Lay siege, O Media!

I will put an end to all her groaning.”

Therefore my body is filled with anguish. Isa 13:8Isa 26:17Psa 48:61Th 5:3Isa 16:11Jer 48:41Mic 4:9-10Dan 5:5-6

Pain grips me, like the pains of a woman in labor.

I am bewildered to hear,

I am dismayed to see.

My heart falters; Luk 21:34-361Sa 25:36-382Sa 13:28-29Dan 5:1Dan 5:5Deu 28:67Est 5:12Est 7:6-10

fear makes me tremble.

The twilight of my desire

has turned to horror.

They prepare a table, they lay out a carpet, Jer 51:11Jer 51:39Jer 51:57Dan 5:1-51Co 15:32Isa 13:17-18Isa 13:2Isa 22:13-14

they eat, they drink!

Rise up, O princes, oil the shields!

For this is what the Lord says to me: Ezk 33:2-7Ezk 3:17Hab 2:1-22Ki 9:17-20Isa 62:6Jer 51:12-13

“Go, post a lookout

and have him report what he sees.

When he sees chariots with teams of horsemen, Isa 21:9Heb 2:1Isa 37:24

riders on donkeys, riders on camels,

he must be alert, fully alert.”

Then the lookout 1shouted: Hab 2:1-21Pe 5:8Isa 5:29Isa 56:10Isa 62:6Jer 25:38Jer 4:7Jer 49:19

“Day after day, my lord,

I stand on the watchtower;

night after night

I stay at my post.

Look, here come the riders, Rev 18:2Jer 51:8Rev 14:8Jer 51:44Isa 13:19Isa 14:4Isa 46:1-2Jer 50:2-3

horsemen in pairs.”

And one answered, saying:

“Fallen, fallen is Babylon! 2

All the images of her gods

lie shattered on the ground!”

O my people, crushed on the threshing floor, Jer 51:33Mic 4:132Ki 13:7Ezk 3:17-19Isa 41:15-16Mat 3:12Hab 3:121Ki 22:14

I tell you what I have heard

from the LORD of Hosts,

the God of Israel.

The Burden against Edom

(Isaiah 34:5–17)

This is the burden against Dumah: 3 Gen 25:14Oba 1:1-16Amo 1:6Jol 3:191Ch 1:30Deu 2:5Ezk 35:1-15Gen 32:3

One calls to me from Seir, 4

“Watchman, what is left of the night?

Watchman, what is left of the night?”

The watchman replies, Act 17:30-32Act 2:37-38Act 17:19-20Ezk 14:1-6Ezk 18:30-32Ezk 7:10Ezk 7:12Ezk 7:5-7

If you would inquire, then inquire.

Come back yet again.”

The Burden against Arabia

This is the burden against Arabia: Jer 25:23-241Ch 1:32Ezk 27:15Gen 25:31Ch 1:91Ki 10:15Ezk 27:20-21Gal 4:25

In the thickets of Arabia you must lodge,

O caravans of Dedanites.

Bring water for the thirsty, Gen 25:15Job 6:19Pro 25:21Rom 12:201Ch 1:301Pe 4:9Isa 16:3-4Jdg 8:4-8

O dwellers of Tema;

meet the refugees with food.

For they flee from the sword— Job 6:19-20Isa 13:14

the sword that is drawn—

from the bow that is bent,

and from the stress of battle.

For this is what the Lord says to me: “Within one year, as a hired worker would count it, all the glory of Kedar will be gone. Isa 16:14Isa 60:7Psa 120:5Sng 1:5Ezk 27:21Jer 49:28Gen 25:13Isa 42:11 The remaining archers, the warriors of Kedar, will be few.” Num 23:19Zec 1:6Isa 1:20Mat 24:35Isa 10:18-19Isa 17:4-5Jer 44:29Psa 107:39

For the LORD, the God of Israel, has spoken.
