The Glory of Zion

The wilderness and the land will be glad; Ezk 36:35Isa 51:3Isa 55:12-13Isa 27:6Isa 52:9-10Isa 4:2Rev 19:1-7Hos 14:5-6

the desert will rejoice and blossom like a rose.

It will bloom profusely Isa 25:9Isa 60:13Rom 10:15Hab 2:14Amo 9:13-15Isa 60:1-3Isa 40:5Isa 55:12-13

and rejoice with joy and singing.

The glory of Lebanon will be given to it,

the splendor of Carmel and Sharon.

They will see the glory of the LORD,

the splendor of our God.

and steady the feeble knees! 1

Say to those with anxious hearts: Jas 5:7-9Isa 41:10-14Zep 3:16-17Eph 6:10Hag 2:4Isa 34:81Ch 28:20Isa 33:22

“Be strong, do not fear!

Behold, your God will come with vengeance.

With divine retribution He will come to save you.”

Then the eyes of the blind will be opened Isa 42:6-7Luk 7:20-23Isa 29:18Mat 11:3-5Isa 32:3-4Psa 146:8Jhn 9:39Isa 50:4

and the mute tongue will shout for joy.

For waters will gush forth in the wilderness,

and streams in the desert.

The parched ground will become a pool, Act 26:18Isa 49:10Jhn 4:14Isa 34:131Jn 5:19-20Isa 13:22Jhn 7:38Rev 18:2

there will be grass and reeds and papyrus.

And there will be a highway Mat 7:13-14Isa 42:16Jhn 14:61Pe 1:14-15Rev 21:27Heb 10:20-231Pe 2:9-102Ti 1:9

called the Way of Holiness.

The unclean will not travel it—

only those who walk in the Way—

and fools will not stray onto it.

No lion will be there, Ezk 34:25Isa 62:12Exo 15:13Hos 2:18Isa 11:6-9Isa 30:6Isa 63:4Isa 65:25

and no vicious beast will go up on it.

Such will not be found there,

but the redeemed will walk upon it.

So the redeemed of the LORD will return Isa 30:19Rev 21:4Isa 25:8Isa 51:10-11Isa 65:19Jer 33:11Jud 1:21Rev 14:1-4

crowned with everlasting joy.

Gladness and joy will overtake them,

and sorrow and sighing will flee.
