The Word Became Flesh

(Psalms 84:1–12)

The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. 2 We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son 3from the Father, full of grace and truth. 1Jn 4:91Ti 3:16Gal 4:4Jhn 1:1Isa 40:5Heb 1:31Jn 1:1-2Php 2:6-8

The Mission of John the Baptist

(Isaiah 40:1–5; Matthew 3:1–12; Mark 1:1–8; Luke 3:1–20)

And this was John’s testimony when the Jews of Jerusalem sent priests and Levites to ask him, “Who are you?” Jhn 10:24Luk 3:15-18Act 19:4Act 13:25Jhn 5:33-36Mat 21:23-32Jhn 2:18Jhn 5:10 He did not refuse to confess, but openly declared, “I am not the Christ.” Mat 3:11-12Mrk 1:7-8Jhn 3:28-36Luk 3:15-17

“Then who are you?” they inquired. “Are you Elijah?” Deu 18:15-18Mal 4:5Mat 11:14Jhn 1:25Luk 1:17Mat 16:14Mat 17:10-12Jhn 7:40

He said, “I am not.”

“Are you the Prophet?”

He answered, “No.”

So they said to him, “Who are you? We need an answer for those who sent us. What do you say about yourself?” 2Sa 24:13

John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet: Isa 40:3-5Mrk 1:3Mat 3:3Jhn 3:28Luk 1:16-17Luk 1:76-79Luk 3:4-6

“I am a voice of one calling in the wilderness,
