Blessings for a Defiled People

On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came to Haggai the prophet, saying, Hag 2:20Hag 1:1Hag 1:15 “This is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Ask the priests for a ruling. Lev 10:10-11Deu 33:10Mal 2:7Deu 17:8-11Ezk 44:23-24Tit 1:9 If a man carries consecrated meat in the fold of his garment, and it touches bread, stew, wine, oil, or any other food, does that item become holy?’” Lev 6:27Mat 23:19Exo 29:37Ezk 44:19Lev 6:29Lev 7:6

“No,” replied the priests.

So Haggai asked, “If one who is defiled by contact with a corpse touches any of these, does it become defiled?” Lev 22:4-6Num 19:11-22Num 5:2-3Num 9:6-10

“Yes, it becomes defiled,” the priests answered.

Then Haggai replied, “So it is with this people and this nation before Me, declares the LORD, and so it is with every work of their hands; whatever they offer there is defiled. Pro 28:9Tit 1:15Hag 1:4-11Isa 1:11-15Pro 15:8Ezr 3:2-3Jud 1:23Pro 21:27
