The Valley of Vision
This is the burden against the Valley of Vision: Jer 21:13Psa 125:2Isa 15:3Jol 3:12Jol 3:141Sa 11:51Sa 3:12Ki 6:28
What ails you now,
that you have all gone up to the rooftops,
O city of commotion, Isa 32:13Isa 23:7Jer 14:18Lam 2:20Amo 6:3-6Isa 22:12-13Isa 37:33Isa 37:36
O town of revelry?
Your slain did not die by the sword,
nor were they killed in battle.
All your rulers have fled together, 2Ki 25:18-212Ki 25:4-7Isa 3:1-8Jer 39:4-7Jer 52:24-27
captured without a bow.
All your fugitives were captured together,
having fled to a distant place.
Therefore I said, Jer 9:1Mat 2:18Jer 13:17Jer 31:15Mic 1:8Psa 77:2Isa 15:3Isa 33:7
“Turn away from me, let me weep bitterly!
Do not try to console me
over the destruction of the daughter of my people.”
For the Lord GOD of Hosts has set a day Isa 10:6Isa 37:3Lam 1:5Luk 23:30Mic 7:4Amo 5:18-20Hos 10:8Isa 22:1
of tumult and trampling and confusion in the Valley of Vision—
of breaking down the walls
and crying to the mountains.
Elam takes up a quiver, with chariots and horsemen, 2Ki 16:9Isa 21:2Amo 1:5Amo 9:7Gen 10:22Isa 15:1Jer 49:35-39
and Kir uncovers the shield.
Your choicest valleys are full of chariots, Isa 10:28-32Isa 8:7-8Jer 39:1-3Isa 37:34
and horsemen are posted at the gates.
He has uncovered 1Ki 10:171Ki 7:21Ki 14:27-28Isa 36:1-3Sng 4:4
the defenses of Judah.
On that day you looked to the weapons in the House of the Forest. You saw that there were many breaches in the walls of the City of David. You collected water from the lower pool. 2Ki 20:202Ch 32:1-62Ch 32:30Neh 3:16 You counted the houses of Jerusalem and tore them down to strengthen the wall. You built a reservoir between the walls for the waters of the ancient pool, but you did not look to the One who made it, or consider Him who planned it long ago. On that day the Lord GOD of Hosts Jol 1:13Mic 1:16Jol 2:17Amo 8:10Ecc 3:4Jas 5:1Ezr 9:3Job 1:20
called for weeping and wailing,
for shaven heads
